Buying short sale homes ..? how is you exp so far …?

Hi
I am planning to scope around those areas like MI, CA where the real estate has fallen down too badly. In CA the prices are still high , I have to contemplate loans.
But about places like MI I can buy them cash.
My Q's are
– I keep hearing a 'too good story'. I wonder – once you invest in that home and have it repaired. What are the challenges in renting it , esp if you dont stay there ( I am in CA ) ? whereas I am looking for property up north or east coast ?
– If you buy stuff cash . 100 % , then is there any way I can get Tax break on those house buys.
What are the caveats of investing in housing market , in these recession hit areas.
Thanks
Sam

Staging Homes For Sale is being used by many sellers in this economy to try and squeeze every bit of equity that they can find in their current home. The method is not complicated, but rather looks at the different areas of the house to determine what the buyer would be most interested in and maximizing the features in this area rather than attempting a more general approach to the marketing scheme.

Most buyers have a certain idea in mind when looking for a new home. This might be a new family who is looking for more space or retirees who need a quiet area. Whatever they are looking for in a house, it might behoove the seller to figure out what the major selling points are before putting the house on the market. No matter what the findings are regarding the house, there are certain things that every seller can do to make their house more sellable and thus more appealing to the potential buyer.

Three major areas that always need attention are:

1) Kitchen and Bath — most families spend the majority of their time in these two critical areas so make sure that they are clean, neat and free of problems (e.g. leaking faucet).

2). Outside appearance and landscaping — a house that looks well kept up will impress buyers before they even walk through the door. Cut the grass and power wash the siding if possible.

3). Take care of any minor repairs that need attention. These can include cracks in the plaster and burned out light bulbs.

Staging Homes For Sale doesn’t have to be a complicated process, but if you are well organized with an attention to detail, it can lead to additional equity that you didn’t know existed. And that’s a good thing don’t you think?

Now go stage that house.
